Screening is 10/24/19 5pm-7pm at the Carneal Building!

Cause Collective, a team of artists, designers and ethnographers will share their ongoing work “In Search of the Truth/ Truth Booth”. The project was initiated and toured as part of the most recent U.S. Presidential election; sadly the inflatable social sculpture did not make a stop in Alabama. Post-November 2016, it has continued to travel throughout the world–from Charlottesville, Virginia to Afghanistan.
The Truth Booth is an air-filled sculpture in the form of speech balloon (or bubble). Inside is a video recording booth. When inside, visitors are asked to share their opinions and thoughts as they finish the statement: “The truth is…”. In addition to the sculpture, Cause Collective will screen compiled video from previous participant “truth” statements.
The CAUSE COLLECTIVE is a team of artists, designers and ethnographers creating innovative art in the public realm. Collective members include: Ryan Alexiev, Hank Willis Thomas, Jessica Ingram, Bayete Ross Smith, Natasha L. Logan, Will Sylvester, Jorge Sanchez, Jim Ricks.
